Spotted Lantern Fly
This invasive insect pest has slowly been making its way eastward onto Long Island the last few seasons with 2023 seeing an influx north to south from Sands Point to Valley Stream. Experts predict that this trend will only continue as they have no natural enemies to help control their populations.
While they are mostly thought to only cause severe damage/death to agricultural crops such as grape vines, they are a huge nuisance when they have congregated en masse. From their jumping habit to their copious excrement it can make your outdoor spaces almost unusable! We have treatments available to help reduce their numbers so you can enjoy your yard as you were meant to!
